Welcome to Fitted Wall Units.

You can have your Wall Units fitted and made to measure. Thickness's of sides/bottoms and shelves inside vary between 25mm; 36mm; 42mm and 50mm. Other sizes are available, but these are special orders and may cost more. Gloss finishes are available in 3 types: 1st is the old oil based gloss that we might remember from when it was most popular back in the 60's and 70's. 2nd is the much newer water based gloss, this is a little less shiny, but dries much faster, however it can leave brush or roller marks, however this can be avoided by spraying the water based gloss on the shelves. We prefer this method of application. The 3rd gloss is the very shiny reflective high gloss that we might see in casinos or some of Ikea's products or on shiny cars and indeed kitchens, this is the most expensive option, although for good reason, it does look fantastic.
There is a selection of Wall Unit designs available, not only differing in sizes or finish quality, but also the material itself. Solid oak or Walnut are relatively expensive if the depth, that is the front to back size exceeds 170mm at which point, some solid oak/walnut planks need to be jointed along its length to increase this measurement, normally doubling it, ofcourse.
An alternative to this option is to use a ply or mdf sheet with walnut or oak finish on it. This is a real oak or walnut veneer that has been shaved off the real tree and this means that when put against the real thing it looks the same. The other advantage of using real wood veneer is that the finish can be of your own making, such as French Polish; Danish Oil; Liming in the grain or as the French do, painting!

Wall units have worked out of a unit in Romford, North East London since 2007. I specialise in making and fitting Fitted Wall Units in London and Essex. My preferred materials are Walnut; Oak; Birch; Mapel or any of the hardwood veneered MDF and Ply products, and when painting/spraying will use MDF ply or pine depending on strength and design requirements. Lead times are usually 2 - 3 weeks. Prices are given on a job by job basis so feel free to get your quote.
